The Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families (DSCYF) is now offering incentives for new hires for Teacher positions in accordance with the DSCYF Recruitment and Referral Program.
The program provides recruitment incentives as follows:

$10,000 signing bonus to full-time, Merit employees in the following classifications: Teacher, Teacher/Special Ed, or Teacher’s Aide. This bonus will be paid in three installments: $2,500 upon completing all required training, paperwork, and conditions of hire which is typically at three (3) months, $2,500 at twelve (12) months, and $5,000 after two full years (24 months) from the date of initial employment in a hard to position as identified above. $2,500 referral bonus to Merit DSCYF employees who refer applicants who become DSCYF new, full time, Teacher, Teacher Special Education or Teacher's Aide positions. The bonus will be paid in two installments: $1,250 upon form completion and applicant completing all conditions of hire and $1,250 paid 18 months after the new employee’s initial date of employment.
NOTE: This program is administered by The Department of Services for Children, Youth and their Families. This program may be terminated by the State at any time. Casual-seasonal positions are not eligible for this program.
